Special technology cultivated

Processes including a multitude of dry coating technologies such as vacuum deposition, sputtering, or CVD; wet coating technologies, with a diverse range of coating methods available to choose; transfer technology that allows designs such as metallic tones or pigments to be applied to a surface; hairline technology for adding line-shaped designs to films; lamination technology that allows multiple resistances or properties to be granted to a material; and etching technology that applies a pattern to a surface by selectively removing vapor-deposited material may be combined into a single production line. Of course, over the course of many years we have also honed coating technology that affects the performance of thin films.

Thin film processing technology

Our Products

A lineup of thin film processing technologies
and products to meet the needs of any industrial fields

The applications for Reiko's thin film processing technology that started with lamé in clothing have continued to broaden as the technology has evolved. This technology's importance in a wide range of fields, from packaging films matched to food characteristics and creative films for products such as electronics to high-reflectivity films for the backlights in LCD displays, low-reflectivity films for touch panels, high-barrier films for photovoltaic panels, low-resistance transparent conductive films, and more only continues to grow. At Reiko, we produce results with our broad knowledge and manufacturing technology to meet different technical requirements for customers or products.

Functional film field

  • Optical applications
  • Electrical materials applications

Films used in optical and electronic parts such as high-barrier films used in electronic paper and solar cells, transparent conductive films that form the circuits for solar cells, and low-reflectivity films for touch panels are high-function materials produced using multiple technologies such as dry coating and wet coating to bestow various properties. Besides our company's original products, we are also skilled at customizing products to provide the performance and properties needed for each use case.

Industrial film field

  • Industrial materials
  • Metal decorative foils
  • Pigment decorative foils
  • Molding materials

Using metals with good anti-corrosive properties, transfer foils are being deployed to automobile parts and construction materials.
Transfer foils with surface decoration that makes use of beautiful metallic luster and insulative properties are being used by many different manufacturers in household products.
There are also thin film processing technologies such as optical adjustment films and mirror tone films that take advantage of the texture or properties of metals.

Packaging material field

  • Transparent film deposition film
  • Agricultural film deposition film
  • Aluminum film deposition film
  • Special vapor deposition processing
  • Other industrial materials

From every kind of vapor deposition barrier films for packaging that protect food quality thoroughly for a long time to vapor deposition films for agriculture that aid in growing crops, we support food distribution with materials for packaging films. To respond to critical global environmental issues, we develop environmentally-friendly products such as vapor deposition films for monomaterials, marine degradable biofilms, and products using recycled materials.

Textile field

  • Lumeya Luster
  • Lamé Session®
  • Glitter

Reiko's origins lie in manufacturing delicate gold and silver yarns for textiles by adhering ultra-thin gold leaf and silver leaf to traditional Japanese paper. Now, when we vapor deposit aluminum or genuine silver, our reputation for the most luxurious yarn remains unchanged. By adding dye resistance, it's possible to dye products after deposition, and we offer a rich variety of color variations in small batches. We continue to evolve, developing soft yarns that are gentle to skin despite being lamé and powder-type products treasured in the cosmetics industry.
